Fr Edward Dooley SJ

Fr Edward Dooley SJ has a strong family association with Xavier College that goes back to 1899. His grandfather, father and his father’s three brothers all attended Xavier College. Edward was a student at Burke Hall and the Senior Campus from 1973-1981.

During his regency period Edward worked at St Ignatius’ College in Adelaide and Loyola College in Mount Druitt. His first appointment after ordination was to Xavier College where he was a member of the Centre for Faith and Service and then Director of the Centre from 2000 to August 2004. During this time he was part of the Jesuit Vocations Team.

Edward made his Tertianship in Kandy, Sri Lanka in 2005 and 2006. In 2006 to 2008 Edward was part of the Magis World Youth Day team after which he was made Parish Priest of Holy Family Parish, Mt Druitt and Provincial Assistant for the Vocations Ministry for the Australian Province. In 2013 he was Parish Priest of Our Lady of the Way Parishes, North Sydney before taking up his present role as the Catholic Chaplain at the Royal North Shore Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital. His present positon fits in wonderfully with his desire to be involved in Pastoral Ministry.

Edward is now at St Ignatius' College, Adelaide in the role of Assistant to the Rector for Ethos and Faith Formation and Chaplain to the Junior School and Ignatian Early Years.
