Edition 5, 16 April 2015
Fr Chris Middleton SJ

Along with many Australians I was absorbed by the recent finals in the Cricket World Cup. Forty-six games, involving 14 nations, with a global audience of more than a billion people, culminating in a record crowd of 93,013 fans at the MCG for the final, it was truly a sporting moment to savour. And it was tremendous to see Australia win.

Dr Chris Hayes

I hope you have had a renewing break with your children over the Easter season. Term 2 has begun well and it is pleasing to see the staff and students eager to make an energetic start. Across our three campuses, the staff gathered to engage in professional development sessions focused on further enhancing the learning culture at Xavier College.

  • To all our families, I am delighted to welcome you back for another term.  I hope you have had a most enjoyable Easter break.  In the last week of Term 1 we commemorated the passion of Jesus during Holy Week.

  • Welcome back to Term 2. I hope that all families were able to enjoy time together and participate in the Easter Masses and celebrations.

  • Welcome back to Term 2. I hope your boys have had the opportunity to rest and that they are ready for another busy term

  • This term we continue in our rich co-curricular pursuits with the commencement of the winter APS sport season, the big Kostka Hall Music Concert in June, Debating, the Year 6 CEO Drama Festival and auditions and preparations for our Term 3 musical Peter Pan Junior.

  • With the change in sport to winter games, students must be aware of the uniform requirements for their sports.

  • We extend a very warm welcome to Edward Cooper (Liz & Campbell), Alexa Thomas (Deb & Bob), James Harris (Sacha & Paul), Jack Fraser (Liliana & Dean) starting in the Magdalena Room
