You are invited to the Xavier Social Justice Network Daring to be Different Forum 2017.
As a Jesuit novice master, Fr Jorge Bergoglio (Pope Francis) was put in charge of a parish in a poor neighbourhood. He would send the young seminarians into the favelas to work with the poor. The further the seminarians ventured into the favelas and off the main roads, the more deprived conditions became. When they returned in the evening, Bergoglio would wait outside the seminary and look at each of their shoes. If they weren’t dusty enough, the story goes, some seminarians would be sent back to try again.
Come along and hear how our speakers have got 'Dust on their Shoes' and discover how you can do the same.
