LIBRARY SERVICES

The three campus Xavier College Library serves the school based on the notion that we are an integral part of a learning community. We aim to ensure the effective integration of information literacy across the curriculum, strengthen the knowledge of the core value of childrens' literature and strive to achieve excellence in the delivery of information services to the whole school.

This collection is designed to challenge and extend our students intellectually and to enable them to identify themselves as responsible citizens of a global community
the way we work collaboratively within the Library and with the college community as a whole, to ensure a high level of service the way we are committed to our own professional development and the sharing of our knowledge, expertise and resources with each other and the wider school community across the three campuses the continual review of our services and facilities which will enable students and staff to work and learn in a safe, pleasant and comfortable environment.

Our Mission

The Library staff will strive to ensure that the values of Jesuit education, the strong religious ethos of the College and our mission within the school are reflected in: the positive relationship between the Library staff, teachers, students, parents and the wider community the way we recognise a student's individual learning needs and seek to empower them to realise their potential the way we prepare students to be critical thinkers, skilled in evaluating and using information from all sources, including current information technology the way we develop and support in each student a love of reading a collection of resources which support the moral and ethical values of the College, and satisfies a variety of curriculum and recreational needs.
