Awarded to Nick Green OAM

On Monday 29 April at a full school assembly, Nick Green OAM (Old Xaverian 1985), received the prestigious “Xaverian Award” presented by the Principal Dr Chris Hayes. Nick was a member of the famous ‘Oarsome Foursome’ and won two Olympic Gold medals in Barcelona and Atlanta. Nick was a part of a rowing crew that won four World Titles and nearly every honour and competition in international rowing.

Derision of Christ at National Gallary of Victoria

Through the generous assistance of the Xavier College Arts Advisory Board from The John Kerr Tutton Trust, David Byrne, John T. (Jack) Rush QC and two anonymous donors, 2012, the National Gallery of Victoria has acquired a remarkable French medieval sculpture, a polychrome carved oak figure, almost life-sized, of ‘The Derision of Christ’, dated 1430-1530, from Northern France.
