Old Xaverians’ Association
Every student of Xavier College upon leaving school automatically becomes a Life Member of the Old Xaverians’ Association.
Although not officially established until 1910, regular reunions and unofficial meetings date back to the 1890s.
The OXA embraces a wide range of sporting and cultural interests and plays an important and active role in the Xavier Family by providing assistance in the needs of the College and its students.
Through its amateur sporting club affiliates, the OXA has earned a reputation as a major force in Australian Rules football, cricket, athletics, golf, hockey and soccer. All old boys are encouraged to participate either as players or spectator/supporters.
The OXA is an extension of school life in that it allows old boys to maintain contact with each other through the many functions held during the year. These include the Annual Dinner, country and interstate dinners and decade reunion dinners. Such occasions promote unity, good fellowship and assist in the growth of the life-long friendships formed at school.
The OXA is part of the world-wide Jesuit Alumni Association and promotes the principles and philosophies of Jesuit education in particular through the work it does for the disadvantaged.
The Education and Welfare Fund is an example of this work. It was established to assist students whose families have suffered distress and financial difficulties. The Association also works with the Careers and Guidance Counsellor at the College to provide assistance to current and past students with careers and employment.
The OXA provides annually a Boarding Scholarship. In addition, the Association presents annual academic prizes.
The Memorial Chapel is a great landmark of Xavier College. It was an initiative of the Old Xaverians’ Association and was built as a memorial to those Xaverians who lost their lives in war.

Old Xaverians Online
The ‘Old Xaverians Online’ directory was set up to assist Old Xaverians to:
- contact other Old Xaverians anywhere in the world who have provided their details;
- leave messages via a bulletin board;
- update their own details at any time;
- find details of reunions and other events;
- avail themselves of the business directory.
All personal details added to the directory remain private and are visible only to the users and the site administrator.
Over 1,100 Old Xaverians have already registered.
Why not add your details now and help to make ‘Old Xaverians Online’ a lively and useful communication tool?
To access the directory as a first time user, please click on the ‘Register’ link to the right. Once registered with the Old Xaverians Online directory, members have the ability to enter information about themselves, including an email address and password which will enable them to use the login.
Visit the Old Xaverians website, Click here
We hope you will support this initiative which will, we believe, increase the opportunities for Old Xaverians to communicate with one another no matter whether they live in the same suburb of Melbourne or across the globe.
